I'd like to think that imagination is one of the things that truly sets us apart as the superior creature on this planet.
Have you ever considered, for instance, that the HTML table need not always look dull and boring

youknow,
likethis

What an ugly thing to look at! Why not make better use of tables than that?
Imagine this: our friend at the top left of this page is not an image. He too, is a table, just as is the one containing the four words "you know, like this" above! In fact, so is the big red "Imagination" -- there are no images on this page! You'll have to admit, those are far better uses for HTML tables than some silly shopping list.
Now you too can create wonderful tables to display images like this!

Just think:
  • Your HTML files can now be at least 5 times as large, if not 50!
  • You can easily harass anyone with your brand or logo, even if they turn off images in their web browsers!
  • You can (optionally) completely ignore the entire Netscape population because their browser won't enjoy these wonderful images! Just think of all the fun secrets Internet Explore users can share!
  • With a large enough image, you can probably crash someone's browser, or at least bring it to a screeching halt as it is processing multi-megabytes of data!
  • Make downloads extremely painful for modem users. One advantage though is that they need only one file, not 50 million images like a regular web page.
What more do you need to know? Just fill out the following little form with the URL of your favorite image (make sure you use http only), and you are on your way! (type in http://window.terratron.com/~sosman/imagination/images/ingenious.gif if you are at a loss for what to put in)

Image URL
Support Netscape Browsers (Netscape support leads to significantly larger files)
Full resolution?
Warning:If you check this box, the resulting file may be HUGE (depending on the complexity and size of your image). We are talking several megabytes, if not more! Use this option at your own risk. I suggest that you try it with the box unchecked, first. Images above 1000 pixels in width or height will be down-sampled to reduce massive web traffic when I KNOW your machine won't be able to handle it! You may want to try this feature with images 500x250 or smaller (or something similar in size, but with a different shape, eg. 300x300, 250x500, etc).
